Has any man here ever noticed that....

  1. I have noticed this, yes. I can understand what others pointed out about we may just be whining or seeing what we want to see but I do believe the pussification of the white male in the media is a real phenomena.

    He's always portrayed as clumsy, a simpleton, and worst of all, submissive. No women wants a submissive male figure in her life.

    it's not only about the wife, but the husband too....no real woman wants to be in a relationship like in this commercial:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IZ9CL4phPk

    or if they do...they don't enjoy it...

    Pretend it is a partnership - but on the big decisions be the managing partner. Even if she theatens divorce.

    If its important and you know her choice is going to be bad - it will cause strife anyway.

    It cost me about half a million to learn that lesson. And since I have taken back pretty much all decision making authority - her life is better.

  5. So you think it is marketing. Why would America want to see weak men?

  6. Like the commercial says, "Why ask why?"

  7. To make a targeted buyer look important, smart , wanted and beautifull was always the marketing technique not just in recent years.
    I agree with you that feminists are the biggest consumer base but women who really like those feminist views definitely are. It makes them to feel better about themselves without any effort on their part.

  8. My wife was just saying the other night, "Does it bother you that commercials and TV shows make fun of white guys"? I said, nah, society always likes to make fun of the guy at the top of the hill. She said, Well maybe I'll just have to shrink that big ego of yours starting tonight". :eek:

    Excellant points,Karol88.
    I must confess some of the movies I have watched have made a change in me. In particular ABC did promote a female leader.

    SKY ANGEL has a female news anchor, CBN news has both a male & female anchor. But they dont try to confuse the male or female roles.Alpine Trout, the commercials bother me more than the shows, so i see your wife' point. I can avoid most of the junk shows.

    I saw that ABC movie /read the book several times;
    Miriam was the song leader. Moses [Charleston Heston] was''slow of speech'' At one time anyway.

    And the movie maker did a picture of driving home the point '' the God of Moses is not much of a general, Egyptian Pharoah said, I have him trapped agaisnt the Red Sea''
    :D

    Still like the spiritual song,[its not about race] Jesee Dixon, the black singer does it well;
    Destined to win, we are destined to win.............................:cool:

  10. Wow, that has to be one of the most distasteful ads I've ever seen. Who comes up with this stuff?
