While they are part of the Dow Jones index?

Or Dow always dumps companies with problems?

How does any company go bankrupt? They were spending more than they were bringing in. You do realize that oil hasn't alway traded above $145/bbl and gasoline hasn't always been $3-4/gallon?

Look at the oil bust of the 80's. That market was decimated.
