I trade similar setups as this guy Harvey. But I also trade a few other discretionary setups, news, and momentum sector plays. I decided to video a week or so of my trading. So I downsized my share size to compensate for the multi tasking of talking and recording my desktop while trading. I demonstrated 400-700 dollar days with minimal commissions and show the bad trades too. Only one day did I not make money. http://youtube.com/profile?user=sgomez858 Please rate or comment on the video sites if you find it of any value. I am not selling anything. I would consider making more if there is positive freedback Steve
If you like the videos at http://youtube.com/profile?user=sgomez858 Hit the subscribe button on my channel to keep up with future videos I make. It works well as a trading journal at the end of the day. I go over the video and get more out of just writing in a journal.
Thanks for the comment. I use Lightspeed and trade with an LLC group of capital out of NY. If people like the videos I will make some more. Maybe even start a thread of my own. As I said, it is a good video journal for me to learn from the trading day as well as sharing with others. http://youtube.com/profile?user=sgomez858 I don't trade options, futures, or Forex. I enjoy the variety of setups the Stock Market offers for the first 2 hours of the trading day.
I love your videos. Sometimes you get in on new highs and sometimes you wait for a retracement. what does it depend on?
So is Harvey Walsh's course a viable trading method? I hear it's comprehensive set of notes he used during his individual coaching gigs. Regards,
Depends on the spread, volume and distance that the price has already moved. Sometimes I take half position in case of pullback and sometimes I take a full position. Just a quick judgement call from experience. Thanks for watching. http://youtube.com/profile?user=sgomez858
Thank you. When initiating a position do you ever enter via market order or try to get a better fill by e.g. bidding a bit higher than the others. Does it depend on the spreads? Also if spread is too wide would you just skip the trade and find something with a tighter spread?
I have never bought the course but I have found this forum looking Harvey's name. I can tell you how I use his videos: I put them on my PDA and use them as inspirational material to convince me that trading can actually work. No kidding. I mean, whether or not he really pulls of things the way he shows them doesn't matter. How many times do we watch a good movie and enjoy it regardless of how realistic it is? His videos encouraged me to think about what he does, how it can or cannot work, and certainly helped me find a lot of stock scanners on the net ;-) I think he really gave something to the community (of traders). Don't worry TradeTheFunk, I am a subscriber to your videos on YouTube, too. And we have to thank you for showing that you don't have to be right every time to make profits.
I will only be convinced if he posts videos for every day he trades. He only posts his winning days, and when asked why he doesn't post losing days he says something along the lines of 'losing days are rare'.
