Obama's famous quote after sandy hook

Even if we can only save one life, we must pass these regulations.....

Disregard the economic impact, disregard self defense, disregard any kind of logic, if one less kid would have been killed at newtown we must impose new draconian laws on 300 million people. This seems to be a perfect analogy for the left wing mindset. screw everyones freedom if we can change something for one person.

1)You at least seem to be trying to get it
2)You always seem to remain polite no matter what, kudos
3)We have 22,000 federal state and local firearms laws on the books here in the US right now.

The Columbine shooters violated 20+ guns laws acquiring their weapons. Obviously a few more laws weren't going to make a difference.

These are all reasons why I believe background checks, as they are done, will have almost no impact other then to waste time and money. I suppose they do catch the truly stupid, or retarded, and that may have some minor value. But again the annoyance and cost of all this rigmarole, in total, is substantial, though perhaps not much per transaction..

Would it make more sense, avoid further government intrusion into our personal lives, and pay bigger dividends, to put the time, effort and expense that would go into background checks that actually worked --assuming that's even a possibility-- into our public school systems instead? I would think so.

The report from Harvard notes that gun violence in England was much lower in the 1920's when there were virtually no gun restrictions and guns were widely available. That strongly suggests that gun violence is a socio-economic-cultural matter. Let's educate gun violence out of our society and stop making useless laws.

What's your suggestion for background checks that actually do work?

There is no doubt in my California gun laws prevent law abiding citize from buying their first gun or more guns.

getting all the paperwork together can be a chore.

  7. a gun death is much easier to achieve than death from a knife, bat, rock, strangulation,

When technology makes weapons easier to use from greater distance, remorse can also be removed from the killing.

Anyone who has taken someone's life with their bare hands as well as with a rifle, will tell you which task came easier; which one is easier to cope with..

If technology allowed people to kill simply by clicking a link, Don't you think the murder rate would rise pretty drastically?

Learn to read fart sniffer. The question was: "Why is a "gun death" worse than a knife death or a ball bat death or a drowning death...?

Is the gun death victim any more dead?"

  9. I read it.

It's worse when it allows more senseless murder.

Guns can and do make senseless killings much easier to perform.

That little 2011 poster you like to tout showing the number of deaths attributed to semi autos being less than hammers and kitchen knives doesn't hold up to those capable of entertaining some thought.

It doesn't include the price tag for each of those items. The semi is on average 100 or more times more expensive to buy, which is why people don't have them in their silverware drawers, or hanging around in their tool boxes.

If every household had a few of those laying around ready to use, the way most households have hammers and knives, your poster would tell a much different story.

    It's manipulated propaganda.

    LOL
You can't even read/comprehend the poster you're ranting about moron.
The poster wasn't even comparing semi auto gun deaths to other weapons. It was comparing the arch nemesis of the leftist loons the so called assault rifles.

I can only attribute such a blathering rant as yours to someone doing illicit drugs.
