It's Pregnant Privilege and doesn't just apply to prison sentences.

Correction: If my mother did the crime, she needs to do the time regardless whether I am a child or not.

Proportion of sentences to the $$ lost should stop after a certain amount. So if you just lost a couple of thousand dollars defrauding other people, you get no jail sentence at all? That's obviously not right.

Gender equality, ladies and gentlemen, gender equality, at it's best.

The folks who invested with her, ain't the brightest ones either, typical story of how a ,,paper'', a - diploma of University, will curse people with illusion of ,,I can trust her/him''.

What about Theranos genius. That was few $Bils and she's walking free, talking about starting a new company (big smile/looks down).

This harvard grad forex scammer cheated friends, family, harvard classmates.
Why did she do that? Self-deception. She had deluded herself into believing she could win back the money she lost on bad investments. Self-rationalisation to justify one's own selfish actions. Some people con themselves into believing they are doing God's work when they're pursusing selfish goals at expense of others.
It is a psychological trap all of us are vulnerable to. The more intelligent the person is, the easier it is to con himself to make himself feel good despite committing evil.
