First of all, it's a minority of Mexicans that try to come here. As for their government being at fault, not so sure. There is a different mindset down there (thank God).

"A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

“Not very long,” answered the Mexican.

“But then, why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” asked the American.

The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.

The American asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”

“I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs . . I have a full life.”

The American interrupted, “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.”

And after that?” asked the Mexican.

With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”

“How long would that take?” asked the Mexican. “Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the American. “And after that?”

“Afterwards? Well my Friend, That’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the American, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start selling stocks and make millions!”

“Millions? Really? And after that?” said the Mexican.

“After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.”

  2. i didn't say their govt. was at fault

i said they were facilitating the process

in a sense, i don't think the mexican illegal is "at fault" in that i don't really blame him. if i was a mexican citizen, i hope i'd have the sense to do the same - get the heck out of mexico, unless i happened to be lucky enough to be born well off. because the mexican syste, doesn't afford opportunity elsewise.

  3. Good stuff.
The "American way" could certainly learn a little more of what the "richness of life" should be about.

  4. The left's stance is that if you are against illegal immigrants you are a racist.

You have to be "for" everything otherwise you will be labeled a homophobe, xenophobe, racist and so on.

REad some of z10's posts, he's a good example.

  5. That's actually Bush's position, you know the dear fearless leader you voted for twice. That's the stand of pro-corporate republicans/libertarians advocating open borders. Of course there are a few on the left that agree with them on this specific issue for humanitarian reasons but their number is insignificant.

Then again I am not surprised you're confused, you're so easy to fool, after all for more than 5 years you sincerely believed that Bush was a decisive leader and a visionary.

  6. Values. Just what we all need a discussion about VALUES from someone on the far right.

    You joking right?

Values from the right are defined for fools that are brainwashed from the ramblings of some religious nit wit and from the hypocrites in Washington.

The only values the right are concerned about come from the dollar.

    End of discussion...................:p :p :p

  7. Yes, I so often hear the right labeling people racist, homophobe, xenaphobe etc.

Bush isn't a republican, I'm not sure what he is but I know what he is not. He displays more attributes of the left.

  8. LOL, republicans nominated him twice, republicans elected him twice, republicans supported him on all his initiatives, republicans were giving him 95% job approval rating for almost 6 years and it's still in the 70s. Bush supports corporations against workers and unions, religion against secularism, he is against gay marriages and abortions, he is against international treaties and the UN, against the environment, mimimum wage increases, Universal Healthcare, he nomintated two openly extreme right wing (though qualified) supreme court judges...

He is your guy sputrd, don't make any mistake about it. Every party gets the leader it deserves and republicans certainly deserve George Dubaiya Bush.

That's what I mean by it.

  10. Yep, like corporate welfare for oil companies and medicare drug bill - disaster for seniors but bonanza for the drug industry, no-bid contracts for Halliburton and guest worker program for any employer seeking cheap and oppressed labor unable to complain and willing to work in inhuman conditions. Lest we forget his attempts to turn Social Security "entitlement" into a stock market gamble benefitting bankers and brokers. His "No child left behind" signature program was underfunded though.

You really don't have a clue.
