This marks her first trip to North Carolina since President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he’s no longer seeking re-election. Harris’ last visit to the state was when she spoke in Fayetteville over two weeks ago. She and the president also gave remarks in Raleigh back on March 26. Other stops on the campaign trail include Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper was previously among the short list for possible vice-president candidates until he withdrew himself from contention earlier this week. Harris is expected to officially choose her running mate by Tuesday.
