Harper, ministers protest global bank tax

  1. Governments will just spend that pot of money like any other tax revenue. Does anyone honestly believe a government would collect millions (possibly billions) of dollars in tax revenue and not spend it? Just have it sit there in an "emergency" fund? Not a chance.

Just an excuse for more revenue to pay off debt for these highly indebted countries. More revenue = less spending cuts = more votes.

  2. Are you also from Canada? I live in Alberta here.

My biggest concern is "who gets to spend that pot of money"? Our banks probably don't need them any time soon, and some banks do need them badly. I am so sick of a "global scale tax system". Not like we don't pay enough taxes!

I like Canadian banks. I want their profits go back to investors who have supported them over the years (dividends). I don't want my money goes to another tax-pot, and leave me with less dividend.
