Hardware solution for mobile trading on the road? Laptop and portable monitors?

  1. Personally, I've owned Dell laptops, and I find them to be a little lacking in power for Trading. I love my Trading Laptop from https://www.tradingcomputers.com/ It always keeps up at the market open, and the few times I've called support for help, they've been amazing!

I got the MSI GE76, an i9. It is a 17" 2K monitor laptop that fits into a 15" Pelican case. Super solid build. But the smartest thing I did was get a Pelican case. I was always getting chips and damage with soft cases. My previous machine was 4 years of travel in a Pelican case, and it was brand new without any damage or ports wonky when I sold it for 1K.

Also I have a second Pelican case for all the accessories, headphones are especially fragile, and I love having them protected.

My Machine was in a car every two weeks traveling, and still is.

I would rent a TV and use it as the second monitor. Hardwire as much as possible. But if you use wifi, check the spectrum for which channels are being used by neighbors, and choose an empty one. Cell phone should be backup and laptop should auto roll over when the hardline goes down. Killer networks cards do this. It is a gamer thing.

Other than that, hosting on a server near your intended exchange is a good call because the "new" internet connection you will be using will not be battle tested.
