I forgot to add, I fly into San Diego about every three months. Gotta love landing and seeing Recruits training out there! I bet that was VERY hard seeing people coming and going at leisure while going through all the "fun" at the Recruit Depot. I was at MCRD Parris Island, and there was nothing there but sand (of course!), spanish moss trees, water all around, HUMIDITY, sand fleas, and every other kind of bug you can imagine that hurt, but we couldn't swat! Two different "experiences," both a little painful at times. I wouldn't change it knowing what I know now.
Add me, too. My great-grandfather fought for America against the Germans in the Ardennes forest in WWI . If it weren't for his bravery and the bravery of all the men and women who fought for America in WWI and WWII, we wouldn't be enjoying the freedoms we have today. Happy Veterans Day to all veterans who were in combat or were fortunate enough not to be. America is grateful to you all.
