The principal headmaster of St Peter's had noticed Farrokh's musical talent, and wrote to his parents suggesting that they might wish to pay a little extra on Freddie's school fees to enable him to study music properly. They agreed, and Farrokh began to learn to play the piano. Good move. Somewhere along the line he changed his name to Freddie. Freddie Mercury (5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991)
