Its funny how leftists are always trying to change the definition to suit their needs. Look everyone in the world who has experienced it... has experienced it within the context of the govt providing services or taking over companies or controlling sectors of what could have been done by private enterprises. Why the hell would Ricter be denying that socialism is also also a way of political organization. and even in the definition I posted... you left this part out. it is a social state according to Marx. (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.
Denmark.... the country that is being held up as a complete example of failed socialist policies. Their multiculturalism has badly failed. Their "fat tax" scheme has utterly failed. The country is on the edge of complete government budget failure and is continually being held up as not a utopia. Can you explain why the suicide rate is 50% greater than that of the U.S. in these Scandinavian socialist paradises?
In other news.... CNN - Bernie Sanders' American Dream is in Denmark http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/17/politics/bernie-sanders-2016-denmark-democratic-socialism/
A great quote but I can't remember who said it, seems to becoming more and more relevant though... The road to freedom questions authority The road to serfdom obeys authority
In spite of our superiority you don't sound very happy. Maybe you have unrealistic expectations? https://www.gfmag.com/global-data/non-economic-data/happiest-countries?page=4
At any rate, don't forget where you're posting. According to years of posts here at P&R, the US is doomed, too. Failed diversity, budget deficits, soaring debt which can never be paid, secret inflation, secret unemployment, and so on. The main point is, and I assume you won't try to deny it, Denmark is a democracy. Thus, there is and can be such a thing as democratic socialism, the point I was trying to make to jem.
