I have on average around 8 trades per day during first 2-3 hours. Sometimes a lot more if market gets volatile. The days when kospi is within 1 point range between H/L, are the most difficult for me to trade.

Your journal reminds me a lot of one of my favorite ET journals, Youngtrader's Commodity Journal. He was super young as well, although I think you have even him beat...

    Anyway, congrats on the trading.

As you see increased consistency with your trading, will you consider going home school and/or tutor to allow you to trade regular market times?

There are obvious pros and cons to this...curious as to what you're view is.

    Best to you.

  5. Well to be honest I have considered it in the past. There are two things that would hold me back.

    1) Money. They can get pretty expensive from my understanding, and at the moment my parents don't have the money to spend. This problem would obviously be solved when I start becoming consistent.

    2) Social life. I have to ask myself if I really want to take away my friends and all. I mean, the main reason I do go to school is for my friends. I personally believe a lot of the things taught in schools are completely unnecessary, and (like the book Think and Grow Rich says) I think time in school could very easily be cut in half.

I think about it everyday all the market action I'm missing. Trading is my life. I love it, I know it is what I will do in life.

Its definitely something I need to think about. There would be nothing better for me than to just trade everyday XD.

Thank you for the wishes! Comments in regards to this are appreciated!!!

  6. Fantastic journal, keep up the great work!

Maybe start writing short articles for seeking alpha or other trading sites. Someone may notice your talent and provide mentorship with a fund or prop shop.

I would suggest sticking with school, no matter what a waste it seems, swing trade or trade markets in the evenings.

maybe contact don bright at stocktrading dot com--- he should be able to get you on the track for prop.....

good luck and I am looking forward to reading what happens!

  7. Hi marketsurfer,

Yea I hear ya. I actually am a contributor for seeking alpha :) I need to start writing articles more often though haha XD.

I'll definitely try contacting Don Bright! Thanks for the suggestion!

Again, thank you for the kind words, and I too am hoping this thread will grow and grow.

  8. Alright here's my trading for yesterday:

    <a href="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Trade%20Analysis/media/90964cf3-b6a8-45fd-8311-047d4fdd9255/HSI%20March%207th%20Trading.png"><img class="embeddedObject" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Trade%20Analysis/media/90964cf3-b6a8-45fd-8311-047d4fdd9255/HSI%20March%207th%20Trading.png" width="909" height="1049" border="0" /></a>

    My account:

    <a href="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Account/media/063a9e84-016d-478f-8d95-a94174d400bf/March%208th%20IB%20Account.png"><img class="embeddedObject" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Account/media/063a9e84-016d-478f-8d95-a94174d400bf/March%208th%20IB%20Account.png" width="377" height="69" border="0" /></a>

So anyways I think the first pic explains it all. Too many trades, too impulsive, not holding long enough.

My goal today will be too hold longer. Haha easier said than done I know :p.

Anyways if you are wondering what I'm trading off of (entries, exits). Currently its all off of feel and previous experience. For example if a market has fallen 50ticks very quickly without halting, I may try and buy it as its natural for a market to come in 5-10 ticks or so. This type of trade for example is more like a 1:1 Reward to Risk, but high expectancy.

Another thing I like to look for is if a market is nearing an important area, (better for instruments like oil, dax and hsi) I'll try to enter before the break and add AT the break. It works something like this:

    <a href="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Trade%20Analysis/media/aa2f1817-52c0-43ec-aecf-273eb5ed7173/Example%20Scalp%20Breakout%20Trade.png"><img class="embeddedObject" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/UATrading/folders/Trade%20Analysis/media/aa2f1817-52c0-43ec-aecf-273eb5ed7173/Example%20Scalp%20Breakout%20Trade.png" width="679" height="435" border="0" /></a>

So essentially, when you make money on this trade, you make on TWO CONTRACTS, however when you lose money, its on only ONE CONTRACT. So even thought the Reward to Risk on this trade just price wise may not be the greatest, monetairy wise it is fantastic.

So that's one of my setups. Post yours! The more interaction, the better.

    Good luck tonight everyone!

  9. Didn't trade too much today... made +$5 on 1 winner 1 loser and pretty much a scratch.

The next 2 trading sessions I will be formulating a strategy thats more mechanical. So all trades will be simulator. I want to get ready for my 5 day trading week next week as its march break. I'll probably be trading oil, the dax also.

So when I am back to live trading in march break, it'll be most likely on my Global futures account.

    I'll post more analysis tomorrow!
    Good luck trading!

  10. Made a good $140 rebate trading today with a prop firm I recently partnered with back in February.

Basically, I trade quite of few shares going for pennies in and out, in and out, and most of my money is made at the close.

So when I am home from school, an average trading day would be me trading Oil and the Dax in the morning, until oil closes at 2:30. Then I switch to rebate trading on my prop account at 3:00, where most of the volume is done. Then, if I want to trade more, I got the HSI at 8:15.
