Could not find the details, but I FINALLY found the quotes/chart for the overnight session. They are ONE HOUR delayed. This has been brutal..... Wait ! I stand corrected....this URL is only about 1 minute delayed: https://www.hkex.com.hk/Products/Li...ng-Seng-Index-Futures?sc_lang=en#&product=HSI
Are these US Hours or Chinese hours ? The pre-market hours are wierd, no ? Two half-hour periods ? That's screwed up !! I finally got it....the no trade period is 12 noon-1 pm for RTH....and this is China time. This is so unlike our futures market which doesn't have a mid-day close.
HSI futures $50 HKD per point (tick). Market data fees at IB and HKFE. 25 HKD for top of book (bid/ask/last). Sounds like you need top of book. Pay the 25 HKD, scalp for 2 ticks to cover your costs and more and you are good to go.
HSI / HHI trade at: 9:15 PM - 12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (next day morning session in Hong Kong) 1:00 AM - 4:00 AM Eastern Standard TIme (next day afternoon session in Hong Kong) These hours are shifted back 1 hour in the Fall in the US with daylight savings time. The actual exchange hours of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange never change. The data subscription to the HSI/HHI/MCH/MHI is DIRT CHEAP at IB. Subscribe to it! One price. Look up HSI, HHI, MCH and MHI (last 2 are mini-contracts of the first 2, 1/5th their tick value). HHI moves in lock-step to the HSI. It has the same tick value. It's like trading 1/2 HSI contract as it moves about 1/2 the distance of the HSI, in general. If you can trade the 1 min HSI or HHI chart consistently well over several months, you have rock-solid skills in day trading super high volatility. You shouldn't have to take more then 12-30 ticks risk (varies on the setup) for a stop loss for 2x+ rewards. Don't hyper-scalp it. If you can't see yourself getting at least a 30 tick win on a setup, pass. Have fun!
If you want to trade China related futures you could also consider to use what is on offer at the Singapore exchange: https://www2.sgx.com/derivatives/products/chinaa50?cc=CN This instrument trades in USD, so if that is your base currency you won't have a currency exchange risk. Subscribing to this market data at IB is cheap (trade exchange SGX, instrument symbol name XINA50).
