Ceasefires can go either way. That's all this is, not an end to Israel's mission re: Gaza, that hate-filled hell-hole. Remember that in 1948, there was also a temporary ceasefire. But during that time, Israel was able to improve its armament thanks to help from the Czechoslovakia, both before, and especially, during the ceasefire. This, despite a communist coup takeover in late February. But Czech was cash strapped and had already signed an arms deal in January, despite a worldwide arms embargo on Israel. There are probably advantages Israel could gain from this ceasefire, despite a 33:1 prisoner/hostage release ratio, and a potential withdrawal from the Philadelphi corridor. They could gain intelligence from the hostages. They can also get intelligence from drones flying over Gaza watching the movements of Hamas. They can also gain arms from the US, finally released from a kind of Biden admin embargo. They can also focus their needed attention elsewhere, to yet another front. Finally, with many more hostages returned (hopefully all available), they could really turn on the heat if/when hostilities need to resume, with more ferocity than ever before, especially now that the head of the IDF has resigned admitting he failed his part on Oct 7. Instead of going door to door, they may do better by just taking down any and every suspect building, until there are no more buildings standing in Gaza. This will be especially needed since the ceasefire allows Hamas to booby-trap many more traps than they are able to now. Later on, all that rubble could be bulldozed out into the sea, expanding the existing harbor jetty, or making a whole new harbor. After that, any Gazan not wishing to live there anymore may gladly be escorted over to Syria, to be with their ideological brethren in the new Sharia dictatorship hellhole they are building there, which should be familiar, and preferred, to most Gazans. If this is the plan, then it won't matter so much what happens during the short time Israel must withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor in order to get the last remaining hostages back. It won't matter how many of the released prisoners are released into Gaza. They may all be as good as dead men walking, much more dead than they would be if they were still needing to be fed three times a day in Israeli prisons. Those prisoners released into Judaea and Samaria might also help establish the reason that area needs to be fully annexed, in a quest to push all jihadis out of the region. Already those releasees are stirring shit up, creating major friction between the "Palestinian Authority" (PA) which is under pressure to tamp down outright intifada offensives in order to keep their power and place. Should the situation there get much worse (it's already worse since Oct 7), and indeed become another front in this already seven front war, their future will likely become the same as Gaza as those released prisoners are purged from the front lines they will undoubtedly resume given half a Falafel. They will likely not leave until the entire area ruled by the PA is rubble as the PA will likely not be able or willing to do enough to maintain its power, to be wiped out along with the Hamas forces now operating, with growing strength, in Judea-Samaria. At which point Israel will be able to redraw its borders with security uppermost in mind. Those borders need to be the Jordan River and the Egyptian border at the Philadelphi corridor. So, just because Hamas is in full control, doesn't mean they will be able to maintain it. They are currently exposing their movements above ground and cannot possibly maintain that posture should hostilities resume. The Czech arms that saved Israel in 1948
Always get info from various angles. There is censorship, biased writeups, manipulative writeups, opinions .... So you have to be mindful of that. There are no sinless people in this world.
Here is the angle straight from the horse's mouth. https://avalon.law.yale.edu/21st_century/hamas.asp
Why did you post two slanted views? I thought you would be posting a view from each side on the same subject in order to emphasize the need to get info from more than one angle. And if we did, we would for sure see that there is such thing as censorship, biased and manipulative write-ups. Right? Recently, Israel banned Al JaStupida, one of your examples. That's bad right? But also recently, the Palestinian Authority banned Al JaStupida too, as it recognized that it is intentionally even more inflammatory than the PA is (or is pretending to be) at a time when the PA needs to crack down on Hamas in its towns, in order to maintain its grip on the power, and especially, the money flow (and to maintain itself as a potential ruler of Gaza the day after, which is the same thing as maintaining its money flow). Why didn't you make an attempt to show both sides? Do you even know what the other side is?
A brief commentary on this one: Though raised Catholic, i too was schooled in the holocaust in the late 60's, and were taught to sympathize with the plight the Jews had gone through. It's really something every student in the world should be made aware of at some time. Even more for every Jewish student as this history is necessary to help prevent its ever happening again. This is especially true when you consider that a nation, any nation, is essentially an elaborate castle for defense. Nations are defensive bulwarks, period. The narrative exploited in the video show conflates the need for readiness, with radicalization, which is what the video intends to do amongst Israel's modern enemies, specifically the Arabs on the borders of Israel making claims on its interior. "Nazification": Absolutely those Arabs making claims to the land within the borders of Israel exhibit the tell-tale signs of what made the Nazi's what they were: race-based authoritarian supremacists who found rhetoric that justified the expansion of borders and the killing of dissidents, in particular anyone (dissident or not) of a specific race. This absolutely describes the Islamic Ummah, the prime identity of the Arabs making claim on Israeli territory. Worse, the tactics of the Nazis and the tactics of the Arabs making expansionist claims are similar. The prime tactics first involved 1) demonization through the censorship of any media that might wish to stand up for the Jewish narrative and defend them, in combination with outright smear campaigns against a whole race, ala Mien Kampf. 2) tightening a noose through deception until it was too late to make any effective defense. These are absolutely tactics employed by the sons of the Islamic Ummah, which is not isolated to the Judea and Samaria and Gaza sectors of Israels land. The Islamic Ummah is a world-wide tightening of the noose which does include any nation which no longer sees itself as a castle of defense against marauding vandals, including any formerly "Christian" or currently atheistic or agnostic nations. It has expansionist goals that make the Nazis look like good neighbors by comparison. It's intended rule over the entire world is more authoritarian then was ever executed by either Hitler or Stalin or Mau. Comparing the Islamic Ummah and its aspirants on the borders of Israel to Nazis is too nice, and too harsh on the historical Nazis, if you can back up and see the forest instead of individual trees. Seeing this is the task of any self-respecting nation (any defensive bulwark), most of which fail, including Israel, which functions like a canary in a coal mine. You can see how the Islamic Ummah intends to, and tries, to cut off its oxygen. That is also the oxygen needed by anyone who isn't a card-carrying member of the worst human association since the birth of supremacist nationalism, national extreme socialism, and global extreme socialism (aka communism).
