If you had me on ignore you would not be able to see this thread. Seems what you say and what you do dont match.

Looks like you are a damned liar as well as a whore mongering lecherous old man who lives on disability income from the very country you bitch about.

You don't know shit about taxes or anything else punter. Yes, you can pay no taxes and receive a "refund". You ought to know.

    Loser.

  2. Not to interfere with all the fun, but as to the question of getting a refund if you paid no taxes. No, you cannot. However, you can get a tax credit which appears to most to be the same thing.

There are millions of Americans who pay no taxes but get a refund anyway. This redistributive policy doesn’t get a lot of media attention as you would expect.

A married couple with three children and $40,000 in income can take a $9,700 standard deduction and $15,500 in personal exemptions, bringing their taxable income down to $14,800. They would owe $1,505 in taxes.

But with three children, they would get $3,000 in child credits, leaving them with no taxes owed – and a $1,495 refund check.

So in today’s America you can actually receive more back from the government than you paid in during the year. That’s socialism.

Who cares anymore, China is going to repudiate the dollar and there simply won't be any money for welfare... this kind of hubris the US of A is evidencing is not sustainable...

  6. Or it's keeping them off welfare. If a guy who makes $50,000 is saving $10,000 in taxes via children as deductions, is that welfare too? At $30,000, still saving $10K. At $9,000 then what? These are credits given has nothing to do with tax paid or tax brackets.

I guess everyone who takes a tax credit is on welfare too? Even if they don't need it. Check the Earned Income Tax Credit too while you're at it.

Call it what you want, it's just the tax code, as Mr. Romney put it.

That's the big picture. Welfare and "progressive" taxation is hastening our insolvency.

So the left wants to absorb defense spending into the welfare system.

Someday China isn't going to show up at the treasury auction.

And? So what? The Primary Dealers will still take everything else (as is their obligation to be PDs in the first place) and flip most of it back to the Fed.

  10. That woud be great for people like you and I but most of the people who really need the SS to survive would be just an easy pray to morally corrupt brokers, advisers and fund managers.
There should be and opt out of SS option for competent investors .
