You cant compare Haiti/Domincan republic to USA/mexico. Its not the same. I mean, if you want to compare it to the USA, then you should note that every kid in Haiti would be taken from their parents and put in foster care because of the horrible conditions they are living in. And you also compared putting 10 kids on a truck from USA and going to mexico a poorer country. They put the kids on a truck and went to a richer country. Its not kidnapping if the parents consent to giving their kids to them. Just because they tried to take them over to another country doesnt make it kidnapping. Would it have been kidnapping if they stayed in the country? If not, then its not kidnapping if they leave the country.
Let me get this straight. All a person has to do is go to a Haiti, you call yourself a Christian and presto you have the right to take other people's children out of the country without question or documentation and absolutly no oversight, because we all know if someone says they are Christian they will never do wrong. That is what you people are arguing for. My bad, that is a good idea.
Now turning out to be the ultimate get of jail free card, if its the word of God who is stop you stalking Jodie Foster lookalikes or keeping a Gimp is the basement. God made me put the Smiley in the post.
Ok...lets look at this from another point of view. Imagine that a parent here in the united states says "Hey, i dont want my kid anymore" and drops him off at social services. Now that kid might have no idea where he is going, just like the haiti kids didnt know where they were going because american parents are generally liars to their kids and never tell them straight to their face whats happening. The parent would probably say "Oh you are just going to camp with lots of other children for a little while" or something that would make the guilt feel less for the parent because thats what american parents do. I imagine the haitian parents that didnt want their kids would've said the same thing when they gave their kids to the americans. Now say a year later the parents want the kids back. Do you think social services would just give them back just like that? No they wouldnt...the government would not trust to give back to a parent a child they said they didnt want. I just cant beleive a country like Haiti where they do nothing to help the children that are slaves in their own country(the restavecs), all of a sudden care about some kids that are being taking to a more prosperous country and haitian people, who have been given so much by the united states in the last 30 days, are calling for the heads of these Christian missionaries, who only wanted the best for these children.
It's very simple: They knew they were doing something wrong. They lied about the children being orphans. They were caught.
Seem's straight forward enough. Well meaning do gooders got a bunch of disadvantaged kids, tried to take them to a better place. Without appropriate paperwork. To be indoctrinated into fundamentalist Christianity, and being alive versus dead, potentially, in a fundamentalist orphanage, versus scavenging for food, which is what they would have done before the earthquake. Sounds like a win-win to me...........for everyone!!!!!!Whoo -hoo!!!
Is this about putting a woman in charge of a project? Very similar to putting Pelousi in charge of Congress.
