Haha! Europeans puzzled at why Higher taxes=Less Revenue.

  1. Well, I concede that point. There are enough third world countries that would pass the test. On the other hand, how many families would be able to make that adjustment?

Years back I considered the sort of thing you speak of, but then the whole "creature comforts" became a drawback. For the right type of person, I have no doubt that they could move to any of the above countries and thrive. It's just that those are a very small percentage of the population (especially when you are talking about a family or someone middle-aged).

    We've been through this a dozen times. : )

Reagan saw revenues rise because he broke the bank with stimulative spending.

yea, yea, yea... and the sun came up today because a butterfly flapped its wings. you are using tobacco industry tricks and logic.

well what is your excuse with England raising taxes on the rich and renues went down.. while Bush lowered taxes on the rich and the revenues they paid went up?

  4. You are quoting from the Telegraph, which is well known to be a far right wing newspaper.

I mentioned Costa Rica as a response to Denner's comment on safety. Your internet connection and rental car notwithstanding, there is a reason it is called "the third world".

My point was, luring the world's rich would eventually bring all the money, and if used properly, could accelerate a country's place in the world fantastically.

I've spent a good deal of time in the third world. With a million dollars, I could establish quite the life. If I were rich (meaning many millions) I could easily vanish - and have no issue with it. Wife and child as well. There are tons of little expat communities out there if you know where to look.
