There is a difference between "designed" and "developed". Who developed Intel Pentium Chip Processor? Co-Inventor of the USB. Who is the other co-inventor of USB. How was the work shared and what was the individual contribution?
Taking a quick look, our stat arb team is made of 4 Chinese + 1 American. Our vol trading desk breaks down to 3 Americans, 1 Chinese, 2 Indians, 1 Russian and 1 Persian. Other places (both large IBs and hedge funds) are just as diverse and full of immigrant scum. These people are probably in the top 1-2% by income and certainly in the top 1-2% by education. I doubt we'd see a similar degree of achievement on ET, however.
37% of all humans on earth live in India and China. Poverty and starvation are on the decline as a result of their govt initiatives over the past 20 years. Watching the food distribution system at work with trucks rolling in at 4:00am in Mumbai was really interesting. New infrastructure projects in and around Mumbai, Pune, Shanghai are truly amazing. Transformed from little to nothing to state of the art developments in 20 years. India is in the midst of rolling out wireless broadband covering 98% of the country and subsidizing a laptop per child. US cities are facing tough economic times with little in the form of new infrastructure developments. Look at Detroit, New Orleans, Las Vegas... We now have 3rd world type poverty in the US. Our K-12 school system is in trouble. There is no such thing as an American company... All public companies rely on foreign investors. Our companies are refocusing their businesses on the Asian markets.
Infrastructure and buildings in rural USA are better than Mumbai, Pune, Shanghai. I think the tallest building in India is 60 storey high. India's land area is smallest compared to China, USA, Russia and India's population is second highest. By now India should be having 25 or more 100 storey buildings because of their less land space. Indian real estate developers do not have the ability and technology to construct high-rise buildings.
I'm not taking a pro india stance but am impressed with the progress made over the past 10 years witnessed over 6 trips. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tallest_buildings_in_India Most of the high rise buildings in India are in the commercial capital Mumbai. More than 1200 high-rise buildings are already constructed Mumbai MMR. In addition to more than a 1000 mid rises existing already (a building of above 12 floors is classified as a mid-rise, and buildings with 25 floors or 90 meters in height are classified as high-rises), the city is undergoing a massive construction boom, with hundreds of high-rises and a more than 85 skyscrapers under construction. Under construction This lists buildings that are under construction in India and are planned to rise at least 90 m (295 ft). Buildings that are only approved or proposed are not included in this table. Sr↓ Name↓ City↓ Height↓ Floors↓ Expected year of completion↓ 1 India Tower Marine Lines, Mumbai 720 metres (2,362 ft) 125[46][47] 2016 2 World One Worli, Mumbai 442 metres (1,450 ft) 117 2014 [48][49][50][51] 3 Lanco Hills Signature Tower Hyderabad 604 metres (1,982 ft) 112[52] 4 Palais Royale Lower Parel, Mumbai 320 metres (1,050 ft) 67 2012 [53][54] 5 Lokhandwala Minerva Mahalaxmi, Mumbai 307 metres (1,007 ft) 82 levels 2014 [55] 6 Orchid Heights Tower 1 Jacob Circle, Mumbai 300 metres (984 ft) 80[56] 2013[57] 7 Orchid Heights Tower 2 Jacob Circle, Mumbai 300 metres (984 ft) 80[56] 2013[57] 8 Indiabulls Sky Forest Tower 1 and 2 Lower Parel, Mumbai 80, 60 2012[58][58][59] 9 Indiabulls Sky Suites Lower Parel, Mumbai 75 2012[60]
you moron: (a) what about gun powder, the wheel, breakthroughs in nano technology, innovations in led technology, genetic research (absolutely top in Korea) to just name a few. (b) you may have never met a smart Asian because you most likely live in a biased behind the woods redneck town. Enough said... (c) I think you will find it hard to find anyone outside the US who would not agree that Americans are the ones who really know how to put a "spin" on stories and things, selling is the absolutely most important no matter whether people really need it or not (its called marketing and advertising). The last story I remember was how American leaders tried to convince the world there are weapons of mass destruction and other folktales.... (d) the value is pushed down and you will see absolutely massive inflation in the US because Americans borrowed their head over heels without ever being able to repay, pushing the country and rest of the world into a financial crisis of massive proportions. Instead of trying to clean up the mess, your leaders are printing more and more money by trying to convince the world (please refer to point c above) that the American people are good for this huge pile of debt borrowings which they are clearly not. The house of card WILL crash sooner or later. Now, do I dislike Americans or hate that society and the values it represents. By far no. But I am a realist and do not live in a dream world in which you seem to live in. Good night, sweet dreams, and do not forget to rub your daily dose of bs into your eyes...
I think the biggest Indian company is Reliance industries worth $50 Billion but Madoff fraud was for $65 Billion. George Bush had said to Indian leaders "you take agriculture technology" but Indian leaders said "we want nuclear technology". Majority of car designs in India are inspired from worldwide car designs. I think India does not have any original car design. They are mixture of many car designs. Also the tallest building is Burj tower in dubai I think 1600 feet to 2000 feet. Are you sure India's 2,362 feet building is under construction and not just dreams? I think India does not allow more than 50% direct foreign investment in Indian companies. Foreign companies have to partner with Indian companies and share technology if they want to conduct business in India. I think India compelled Russia to share Sukhoi fighter plane technology which is being manufactured in India. I think the same applies to Brahmos cruise missile. If India allows direct foreign investment in India then all Indian giant companies will be acquired/taken over/buy by rich countries within 2 days and India will be under English rule again for 200 years.
If ya cant beat them with intellect start criticizing their houses and buildings. Lol, how much lower will you put yourself???
The reason India is in bad situation and under developed today is that the true rulers of India (Rajputs) live a unknown and isolated life in the state of Rajasthan. British and Rajputs were good friends. When British left India, low caste people grabbed money and power and started leading India. I think today India has very few Rajput politicians and businessman. If British had given the rule of India to Rajputs in 1947 then today India would have been one of the richest country if not technologically superior (example Kuwait). Rajputs are extremely strong people I am surprised how did they allow the money and power to fall in the hands of inferior indian people. When idiots and inferior people rule a country and the world there is ultimate disaster.
