I've done a lot of work on doing my tax docs for my un-registered trading accounts. I also decided that it can't hurt to do the H&R level 1 training, as it seems quite intense. At least I'd get some of my confidence up a little and maybe something to add to my resume. I'm just curious, for those who did it and/or those who worked at H&R Block, what are your thoughts? I believe this course was just $100 a year or two ago, and before then close to free. Now it's over $300 CAN + tax.
%% IF you really enjoy CPA stuff ,sounds fine, do you?? Other wise sounds like a terrible idea, US federal taxes being so complex. Also, any one doing his own taxes, Canadian taxes or anywhere has a conflict from the get go. IF you really enjoy it go for it, but would you also enjoy representing your self in a tax audit?? A CPA is a specialist......
Alright, I took the plunge and am studying now, despite first class doesn't start until the beginning of Oct. I'll be running until mid January. So far, I discovered some 'unknown' new tax credits to the public due to covid that hardly anyone was aware of. That alone will pay for half the course... (just need to find my receipts!). Will update this thread later on how things are going.
