This nonsense from a pro-gun control group (VPC) pushing the ranking of rural states as excessively "gun death" has already been widely de-bunked. In reality, the results are very mixed, and the proper way to do comparisons is to compare cities of similar size & demographics (as stated by the FBI). Here is a link to Murder in the United States by State - select the column on the right (Gun murders per 100,000) and click on the header to get the ranking. The previous threads on gun control in P&R delved deeply into the statistics, I would urge you to go read them. Simply put gun control in the search box. BTW.. Here is a map showing the riskiest places in the world (2013).
Gwb_Trading is a narcissistic network tech guy who thinks he's an expert on many topics he knows very little about. One of his tools is extreme abuse of statistics from highly political sources. His input is often a complete joke. Tsing Tao is lost on totally gun control, he's dedicated so much of his spare time to gun related hobbies he can't help but be obsessed with supporting his choices. So 4th grade level is about right. They don't respectfully discuss anything. ps Canada is often the best example of how gun control works, a country with many similarities to the US but vastly different rules and attitudes about guns and their use. The statistics don't lie. Parcel out areas and communities with similar characteristics and Canada has far less violent crime and murders. Even his hand picked biased numbers fail in this regard.
Well... I take it you don't like figures coming from your own government on healthcare, crime, and demographic education gaps. It's hard to argue with the figures put together by your own Canadian government as you continue to cast negative (and untrue) assertions on anything to do with the U.S.
That chart GWB posted is a joke - everybody knows that most of Europe has a very low rate of gun related murders. Only Mexico & Brazil have a higher gun homicide rate than the USA. That topology GWB posted is wishful thinking but not fact based. The NRA has a big time profit motive and publishes a lot of false info. Here are some real facts. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/nation/gun-homicides-ownership/table/
One license for all? Congress takes up national reciprocity bill on concealed carry POSTED AT 9:01 PM ON JANUARY 9, 2017 BY ED MORRISSEY Will Americans with carry permits in their home state finally be allowed to carry across state lines without fear of felony prosecution? Last week, a North Carolina Congressman introduced a bill requiring national reciprocity among states that allow concealed carry, and even picked up a couple of Democratic sponsors in the House, as Fox’s Adam Shaw reports. Rep. Richard Hudson argues that driver’s licenses get full reciprocity, and that licenses for the exercise of a constitutionally protected right should get the same consideration. http://hotair.com/archives/2017/01/...national-reciprocity-bill-on-concealed-carry/
Another very important point is tourism. This is a multi billion dollar industry. Personally one's safety matters. Do you consider the violence levels when you think of taking a break ? I would love to visit some of The Middle East countries for their historical sites etc. but the level of violence in say Syria and others just make it impossible.
Fine. Provide the evidence. If it's fact based and not opinion, you'll have no trouble backing up all you said with sources. I'll wait on them before I show you why they're flawed - assuming they show up.
Ah, so calling someone else's chart "a joke" is how you debate facts. I see. Tell me this? How would you solve the US gun issues? Let's say you were appointed King in the United States. Absolute power. How do you solve the problem?
Tell me this? How would you solve the US gun issues? ___________________________________________________________________________ I would make it so each bullet is embedded with a unique identifier - for easy tracing back to the person that bought it. First offense for carrying a gun during the commission of a crime would be a mandatory life sentence of riding the bus 24x7 wearing only a diaper. I would make it so you could not buy bullets for less than $10,000 each - people will think twice before pulling the trigger.
