Well, you should be a "strict Constitutionalist". The US Constitution (what's left of it, sadly) is the ONLY thing that differentiates America from the rest of the Leftist SHITHOLE world.
The Constitution should NOT be rewritten willy-nilly. There is a procedure to amend it. No alterations until that standard is met!!!! Our Genius Founders "got it right" the first time around. :"America is America" because (well, was) of the Founders principles.
If the anti gun crowd were really serious about preventing mass killings instead of disarming us, they would cooperate with republicans to pass laws mandating that mental health professionals report patients who exhibit signs of potential violent behavior. Add these names to a watch list of people who will get flagged if they try to buy a firearm. Perhaps require that the police check them out to see if they have firearms. The gun banners are adamantly against such a system however on the grounds that it stigmatizes the mentally ill and might make them less likely to seek treatment. They would prefer to infringe on the rights of tens of millions of stable, responsible gun owners rather than address the actual problem. It's kind of like their approach to airport security. Frisk 85 year old grannies from Mimnnesota and let 25 year old Saudi men breeze through. Wouldn't want to stigmatize anyone by profiling, would we?
Uh, I pointed out that there is a procedure to amend the Constitution. I suggested following that as the only recourse to rewriting it (or portions of it). I don't recall saying the Constitution should be rewritten "willy-nilly".
in last 200 yrs gun technology has improved ..over the single shot musket? now we have CLIPS what other evidence should we reconsider?
So because technology improved, the Constitution should be rewritten to take away the right to own a firearm? The internet was created recently. Should Freedom of Speech be taken away because the Internet represents a vastly superior form of communication?
Let him continue using the improper terminology. It details, quite clearly, where he gets his information from.
