The only thing wrong with the U. S. Constitution is liberal judges stopped applying it and replaced it with the exact sort of craziness you advocate. This gun control debate is a perfect example of the Founders' wisdom. Guns should be regulated locally. Does the mere fact that an item moves in interstate commerce give the federal government the right to regulate every aspect of its possession and use? I say no, otherwise why have states. I say a federal law banning possession or purchase of certain firearms should be clearly unconstitutional. They can bar you from carrying those weapons across state lines, but that's it.
