The US Constitution is showing its age. The fiscal cliff nonsense is a vivid illustration of why the presidential system is defective. I personally prefer the Westminster System of Government. The majority party writes the budget and the idiocy we have now would never happen. If you cant get anything done the government collapses and you call for elections. You either do the job you were elected to do or GTFO.
the united states was created around the idea that the minority has rights and the majority can not trample them. 1 juror can stop a conviction, the bill of rights would need a supermajority and a constitutional convention to overturn, etc. pure democracy is awful, you are at the whims of the majority
right, they keep complaining that we won't go along with the 'will of the people' while ignoring the will of the people on things like Obamacare. Publix exemplifies my frustration with democrats. He beautifully points out how more and meaner cops enforcing existing laws gives good results. Then makes the logically disconnected assertion saying we need another national law so that other cities can do what NYC does. No, those other cities need more cops, not another law that they could not enforce anyway. When we say that very same thing, that is just enforce the existing law, they laugh. The urge to control, very very bad.
Why not move to the UK, then? Most of us like the US constitution, and don't want moonbats like yourself doing harm to it.
Well like all of us it does get older every day. So you want to rewrite our constitution to suite you huh?
