    Yep. Its economic warfare.

The biggest threat to Corporate Fascism masquerading as Democracy? Private wealth.

Money is freedom to get involved in Politics. And the POWER to change it.

    Jefferson talked about that.

We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debt, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our calling and our creeds...[we will] have no time to think, no means of calling our miss-managers to account but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers...

  3. While the country is about 50/50 in decisions....

    Let's do this....

Let the LEFT live on the LEFT of the Mississippi....

Let the RIGHT live on the RIGHT of the Mississippi....

    ............................................................................

    Each live as separate states....

    Why not ?

The RIGHT is constructed from a 15% Consumption tax only....

The LEFT retains its progressive structure....
    ............................................................................

    The result ?

A giant Haiti on the LEFT.....

    USA on the RIGHT....

Very fitting.....as "Hollywood" is on the LEFT....

    "Hollywood" = "Pelosi-Obamanomics"....

Well, today's per capita spending would have been $116 back then.

So in realvalue the per capita spending increased only by 13 fold.

  5. Where did you get that figure? Virtually EVERYTHING has gone up 100 fold, so how could per capita spending increase by only 13x??

If your figure is correct, it's an even greater and more ominous warning about the growth of government.

  6. Funny to see you say that considering how smart you think you are.

It's actually quite obvious what that comparison shows.

Exactly. I got it from dividing 11K by 900, so we would compare apples to apples.

And no, if my figure is correct 13 fold increase isn't too big in 100 years. It is actually rather small increase....

  8. Seems small, at only +2.5%-ish/yr in real terms, but it has lead to THIS...

  9. Thinking out loud here. Fed spending per capita went from $9 to $11,675 today, a spending increase of 1297 times. Not noting that the dollar is worth 100 times less.

It looks like a lot if citizens had increased spending as much as the Fed has.

1909 annual food spent per capita = $81.43

If individuals increased spending by 1297 times, annual food spent per capita would be $106,000 today.

Annual housing costs were 61.48 and would be 80,000 today.
