    Its a steal at 22.25
Just buy it and ride it out. And I mean for your account, just hold it for a few months and work on the boat or something...
It can go lower, don't get me wrong.... but this is a long term hold.
Just don't go all in and get into a margin-call situation if it drops to $20.
I could see it hitting 21.65 before it starts back up, but I don't want to miss it because it will reverse fast and never look back when it does.
I mean honestly, looking at today's chart, it is gonna go lower today.
    I closed here at 22.26
Don't touch it yet Growley (as a daytrade)
    I'm waiting for $21.71

    Edit: I took 21.90... I ain't gonna miss this bottom. f-it.
    I'm holding it. No stop.
    Done.

    Growley....
    I like Haliburton today.
I think the bad news was already priced in, its hard to keep all that stuff quiet. 650 layoffs etc.
Free cash flow was solid. 4% dividend.
    Let it come to you.
Rest a buy order at $17.30, plan to hold for a day or so. No need to burn a daytrade if you're below $25K.

Edit: Damn. No spike down out of the gate.
I missed it. Should have taken $18.05 pre-market.
    Up it goes. @##$#$

Edit 2: That was an easy play really. Funds are hunting safety and returns right now. HAL has sold off over 30% in the last 6 months. Free cash flow was solid. Thats really all that needed to be seen in the report. Revenues dropped, but the financials are solid. Its a safe place for the big players to park some $'s.
    $19.50 and up 6% as I type.
    #$%#$%!

  4. Halliburton is another one of those big names in oilfield and construction that isn't going away. Nice going. Meanwhile, I thought $MDR looked good for a quick day trade, premarket, and $SES, too. Went in, stopped out. Under $25k again. I can't trade at all on this account, already triggered. My choices are move my account to TD Ameritrade, (the only other Linux supportive brokerage) or put more money in, or wait 90 days. Or just get out with my almost $25k. Looking at $ACAD right now... I shoulda been in there. $WORK is on the move. $BNGO is stalled and consolidating but looks ripe. Today could have been maybe not a great day, but at least a good day. $TVIX is still pretty low. $TQQQ refuses to give up and retreat to the $60 mark that I was anticipating. Well, like the Klingons say, "It is a good day to die!" LOL. It has been a lot of fun, thats for sure. I may be back after the first of the year, maybe not. A big fan of Bruce Roberts designs has been eyeing my big boat and offering full P&V value for it, and would maybe pay more. Profit for me of over $20k, an unusual event in boats, which almost universally have a negative return. The thing is, I really don't want to sell. A couple of other windfalls on the horizon. I may be back. Maybe not. Maybe I am not a Ten Percenter after all. GF is like, "yeah, stop". So that's two votes to stop trading. The ayes have it, I guess.

    BTW look at $ARCO.

Okay I am gonna sit and stew for a bit before I close this account. GF just brought my cappuccino. She is taking vacation this week. Need to get her boat ready to go for a sail. Got to go look at a house she wants to buy, too. I'm not going in with money on that, just sweat equity. That's the bad thing about being able to do it all, is sometimes you are expected to do it all.

    Ok here's what you do....
Leave $4000 in the IB account and have them remove the margin feature. That's important. Remove margin from the account. I'll explain why later.

Take the $20K and open a Schwab margin account. You can get this set up in less than 30 minutes, albeit it'll take a few days to move the funds. Once you have Schwab set up, you'll be able to use their Street Smart Edge package for trading. Its great. You don't pay extra for anything. Level 2 etc is all there. You'll trade within the confines of the PDT rule for awhile, but 4 round-trip trades is enough for you in a 5 day period. You will do much better, but your stock selection has to be spot on. That's easy.

In the IB account, you will be able to trade day-trade options, as many round trips as you want.... as long as your total spending for the day doesn't exceed $4k. Options are cash settled and your account resets the next day. You can literally do 2 or 3 decent sized SPY option trades everyday. You trade unfettered. For example, earlier today you could have bought 10 of the 10/23 SPY $300 puts for $1.15 ($1150) .... 30 minutes later they were at $1.65. That's $500. An incredible return. You can also lose that much obviously if you're wrong. Either way, you could do this trade or some variation thereof 3 times in one day ($1150 X 3 is less than $4K). Then do the same thing tomorrow. Its the best way to circumvent the PDT. But you need the IB account to be a cash account and not a margin account. That takes one phone call.

Scalping options on the SPY can be quite invigorating lol to say the least. The spread is a penny on these things. 2 pennies at the most usually so its a great vehicle to do this with. IWM works too, as does QQQ. The beauty is it gives you the challenge you crave while your stock picks are playing out slowly for you in the Schwab account.

Regarding the boat... if you can make $20K, you're nuts not to sell it. You can do it all again with another boat... I bet there's a ton of deals on damaged boats in the Bahamas right now. Sell that thing. Its only a boat... no need for a love affair. That's my opinion anyway. Sell it.

  10. Sounds like a good plan. Except I know diddly about options. I would NEED a couple of months paper trading to even consider it. I actually applied for options and futures trading privileges but IB shot me down, not enough experience. I coulda told them I been trading options since 1965 but nah. Also, I use Linux. I absolutely do not trust WinDOHs with anything requiring security. It is designed around a back door. The kernel is written around the HyperUser's absolute and total privileges, that HyperUser being WinDOHs. They can do absolutely anything they want to your system any time they want, with no justification and no notification and certainly not your approval required. That means anybody else who figures out how to spoof MS can script you to death and steal everything. It also means that the system is very exploit friendly and difficult and time consuming to patch. The source code is secret and not available for user or third party review or patching. It is scary as hell, to me. Plus I just don't like it. I don't like the idea of trading with webware, either. So I am pretty much limited to TDAmeritrade or IB.

I thought about switching my margin account to a cash account, actually. Or just waiting 90 days in the dugout. But I already told GF I was done trading for now. (I did specify, "For NOW", LOL)

I have to admit, I am tempted to sell the boat but I know I would regret it. It was meant to be my final, forever boat, and it is a good one for that. And yeah, there are doubtless plenty of storm-kissed boats for cheap out there, but they won't be this one. I have never owned a boat nearly this spacious below before, though I have owned a couple that were longer. The builder broke out of the envelope and it has almost a foot of extra beam. Most stretched Roberts designs are stretched lengthwise. This one is stretched width wise and it is just incredible below and an incredible sailer. No, if I sell, I won't be buying another. Now if he goes up another $6k I can't refuse. He would be foolish to do so, but he wants the boat, has the money, and doesnt have a wife to tell him don't do stupid stuff. Jury is still out.

If I sell, yeah I will be back for sure. I have plenty of cash in checking, but I already reseeded once(not counting bumping it up from $10k to $50k) , and I have lost over $20k so far. (Took out a net total of $5k for other purposes) It just seems like a good thing to do right now. A profitable sale I can call a win and put half into trading. I think half the sell price actually.

$EROS made a nice run of 22%. Headed back for the grass, now, I think. $ACAD still has wings and staying solidly in the upper Bollinger. Not much volume but the trend is strong and consistent since the open. Up 7.6% so far. Ah $EROS is throwing green candles again. Maybe it isn't done yet.

<EDIT> No, $EROS is done for the day.</EDIT>

Nah, I am out. For now. I will check back in here once in a while and see how everybody is doing.
