Thanks, Van. Not trading today. Just under PDT. Gonna put $1000 in and make one last stab at it. GF put her foot down and says this is it. If I go out, I will be back at some point in the future, possibly in another form. I have a nice windfall coming in a few months, I think. I should have paid more attention to SES yesterday. Peaked at $26 or thereabouts, after starting the day at $5+ and ended at about $16. Ironically I went in for two quick snipes and made $248 or something like that, with small positions, just in case I had to take losses on the oil stocks and needed a cushion against the PDT limit. I coulda made $30 a share or more, if I had concentrated on SES and shorted the top reversal, too. Just 1000 shares would have put me back on easy street, 4000 shares would have given me bragging rights. Even 200 shares would have given me a comfortable cushion for continued trading. Oh well. I do have a TDAmeritrade account and I guess I could work with that for a while. I just don't like their commissions and I have not used their platform. I have grown to kinda like TWS in spite of a few inconveniences and shortcomings. And IB is a very reasonably priced brokerage. I should have funds settled tomorrow, and I will be watching for another SES type setup. Something isn't quite right with the NE setup and I think HOS has been under a buck too long for my taste. MDR still has potential, obviously, and apparently a lot of other people think so too. I haven't even looked at the markets today. Been making my red guajira chili sauce today, and also some hot sauce from the Tabasco peppers GF is growing, and a particularly strong strain of Jalapenos she is growing, as well. I will be making chile con carne tomorrow from the sauce and maybe enchiladas the next day. Got some welding to do and some work on the truck. I just kegged another batch of beer and I have a fermenter to clean and sanitize. Lots of work to do on the small boat before I can sell it. So the down time from trading is getting put to good use. Tomorrow I might just check in here, and scan from 0900 to 0915 for penny and nickel stocks in play, then go about my business if there is nothing with really good potential. And tomorrow if I don't see anything I just got to trade, I will start building the framework and adjusting beds for my twin grinder so I can get serious about my razors. I have three guys clamoring to pay my quoted price of $1200 for razors and nothing to show them yet. And lots of work to do on the big boat. Trading has taken up a lot of my time, as well as $25k of my money. I know, $25k losses is nothing, compared to what it has cost some guys to learn to trade, but the time is even more valuable than the money. I can get more money. I can't get more time.
Nice! From the news I was expecting some action on that one. Hope you made a bundle! I have it on my watch list. Not home right now, I am helping someone stabilize his sinking boat. Turned out to be a badly corroded and failed central air heat exchanger raw water valve. I went over the side and stuck a plug in the inlet and he is trying to replace the failed valve and the nipple on either side of it while I visit my boats and check on them. Anyway looks that stock is good for some short action right now. FAST might be getting tired, and ready for a decline as well. SES I expected to tumble a few bucks and it did, another good short. Well, I got to wrap all this up and shower the marina water off me before I catch some flesh rotting bacteria or brain eating amoeba or something. Oh, SES trending down strongly it looks like. Probably headed down another buck or buck and a half.
So TVIX is down, TQQQ is up, but short opportunities all over the place? Strange. Okay REALLY gotta go, now.
Got home early, just for kicks bought 20,000 shares BYND. I think it is about ready to head for $160+ again, from where it is, just below $124. Let's see... $36 x 20000 shares would be a profit of $720k... Into my paper account LOL. IB says my transfer won't be there until Monday. And the website practically brags that it only takes 24 hours. What if I had just used a debit or credit card?
