No, hasn't lost it's edge. Profitability definitely goes down as volatility gets less and less though, but that's nothing new.
Do you have a particular stock that you trade most often? One that always seems to have a setup show up on your radar?
Without tipping your hat too much on your strat, can you elaborate a bit on what kind of stats you look at? for example. Do you try to filter out what the market is doing when running stats on stocsk behavior. or just look at stats on stock behavior regardless of what the market is doing day to day, and how it trades realtive to what the market is doing. For example. I might know a stock closed its opening gap 75% of the time in teh last 100 days within the first 3 hours of trading. But out of these 75/100 days, was it b/c the market traded that way, or was it independant of mkt activity.
Hi Lescor, You mentioned that you mentored your sister in law and shes now a successful trader. Did anyone mentor you while you were at the various prop firms or were you self taught? Thanks
lescor, Do you trade at home or at an office? If office, yours alone or part of the prop firm? You mentioned an assitant- dedicated to you or shared amoung a trading group? Basically I'm wondering how big your operation is.
If I thought last week was dull, wow this week was a real snoozer, at least until 9:30 this morning. It looked like my green week streak was going to end as I was down about 3k after Thursday. But the quad witching came through and I had my best day since August 21st of last year, +22,500. I was was all short off the open, with 17 positions to manually trade. With that much to handle, I didn't trade any of them very efficiently but the market gave me time to work out of them, all green. Other systems were net short as well. +19,900 gross for the week on 349,000 shrs. Daily pl was -1, -1, -4, +4, +22. 21 green weeks in a row now, easily my best ever.
nice trading this morning! i'm glad someone else has found this week challenging...i just sat on my hands most of the time, had to be very patient.
