It's almost free. Thus, you still have to pay for things. In addition, you have to pay for extra services (if you choose to have such).
Don't want to ruin Lescor's thread but I would much prefer to have socialized health care here. I don't care about paying higher taxes to get it. I don't make much per year anyhow. My mom just got discharged from the hospital after surgery. Her surgery was considered outpatient. They wouldn't disclose how much outpatient surgery the bill would be after medicare before the surgery. WTF? They gave a number for inpatient surgery and said it shouldn't be more than inpatient surgery because they usually stay longer than 24 hours. Guess what? Got the bill and it was more than the inpatient number they gave before. I knew this was coming. Those hospitals make up any outrageous number they want to charge you. The whole American health care system is one big overbloated scam. At least my mother has Medicare. Of course, there are politicians here that want to take that away too. Don't care about waiting longer for treatment. Just dealing with the financial scam of the system here would make me rather wait. I would've preferred we go the Canadian route. I'm sure Lescor would agree. No one in a socialized health care system would want to switch to the system we had before Obamacare. People can rant all they want about Obama but I don't mind Obamacare. My only issue is that it didn't go far enough. The only thing good about the system here is you can get treatment right away but it will cost you a million bucks. But hey some to some successful traders, that dollar figure doesn't matter. Cheers.
