Anyone else feel like this term was made up by some guys just to prop up the markets? Anyone else going to snap if they hear it one more time? Who decided this was an acceptable term to hear every 17 seconds? All this market has done is rally up to the declining 200-day moving average on weak volume. The latest lower-high a couple days ago has all the momentum investors selling. A break of 875 SPX would be ominously bearish. Not necessarily new lows, but definitely new lows in terms of EUR, JPY, CDN or gold.
Green shoots...... Fu$king stupid phrase these fools started to shout to make you believe that everything is peaches and cream when in reality things are a lot worse than what they make them appear to be. I can't wait to hear them scream green shoots when unemployment is 12%+ and GDP still can't climb above 0%. New lows coming soon.
Its just a propaganda term. Just like Paulson's Bazooka. There are a bunch of others help me out guys.
It sounds like it came from the movie Being There. Chance the Gardener never talks about green shoots, but he uses a bunch of gardening terms to describe the economy.
