Greece appoints Deutsche Bank and Lazard as restructuring advisers

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The Greek government on Thursday said HSBC , Lazard Freres SAS and the London branch of Deutsche Bank have been appointed to serve as advisers in the strategic restructuring of the Greek financial system. The banks have been hired to "explore and assess the Greek state's strategic options, to valuate its holdings in the banking sector, and to assess the consequences of such options, especially on the efficiency and stability of the financial system," the Greek finance ministry said in a statement.
