Perhaps I (erroneously) assumed that with your strong political leanings and your legendary stubbornness, these would also manifest and "mute" your musical self. If so, I do apologize. Keith Richards wrote a letter to his aunt in 1962 that read: "You know I was keen on Chuck Berry and I thought I was the only fan for miles but one mornin' on Dartford Stn. … I was holding one of Chuck's records when a guy I knew at primary school 7-11 yrs [sic] y'know came up to me. He's got every record Chuck Berry ever made and all his mates have too, they are all rhythm and blues fans, real R&B I mean… he is called Mick Jagger." Later (1987) when Chuck Berry was inducted into the R&R hof Richards said: "It's very difficult for me to talk about Chuck Berry 'cause I lifted every lick he ever played. This is the gentleman who started it all, as far as I'm concerned."
I've provided a link to an early on draft of Sam Smith's "Stay With Me". This version had a working title of "I Won't Back Down", but was never released as such.
Billie Joe Armstrong wrote, and Green Day recorded this song called "Warning" 4 years prior to Armstrong's birth---then remastered and rereleased it---
