I'm sure the aspect that specializes in making such a killing is the exact aspect that no one will share with you, and rightly so dont you agree? There is no substitute for your own hard work and experiences in the trading environment. Knowing who these great traders are and knowing what instruments they trade isnt really going to help you one bit. You need to get your own hands dirty, see what works and what doesnt and go from there.
Telliing just one's speciality really hurts?! I start to feel Paul Rotter is so nice to tell us he makes a killing by scalping. He's even so nice to tell us which markets he trades. Haha... We got the ultimate secrets to trade. (joking) I haven't said I'm trying to learn in this way. The whole thread is just here for one's main sake - gossips! Thanks for your advice anyway. Good advice for newbies like me, really. PS: You're watching this thread. Are you still looking for traders' secrets as well? It's not the way to learn, buddy! There is no substitute for your own hard work and experiences in the trading environment. You need to get your own hands dirty, see what works and what doesn't and go from there. (joking)
Oh My God! You're hilarious! You should get off the paper and pursue a career as a stand up comedian! I'm serious! (joking)
Open question: Has anyone ever see a trader go from: Modestly capitalized up to millionaire status, purely by daytrading (max holding time 1-2 days) forex or options? Because I haven't.
yes I have. Couple of folks I know have done it. One (male) started a second career and made that kind of jump. Another (female) did it and it was easy to understand. She was a divorced mother of two. She had the drive and the discipline to pay attention, learn and stick to a good plan. Took her almost 3 years. She co-manages the office I used to be in before retirement. A very smart and hardworking lady. Edit: I am talking currency markets (exchange traded) and options, not Forex, sorry.
I think it's difficult to capitalize up to millionaire by options. Options is slow to get rich, isn't it? It should take quite a while. In my opinion, Future is most profitable instrument among others. What do you think?
you don't know shit, i know much much more option traders that became millionares and kept there money then futures traders who did. Several of them are still doing great after years of trading ... All the futurestraders i know who made great money daytrading in the nineties have almost all given it back over the years. Struggling would be the best word to describe it. A friend of mine made over 20 million, his firm went bankrupt last year.
Sorry, you missed my point. I'm not saying option trading NEVER get you rich, but is it slow to get you rich? So what do you think? And here's daytrading thread. So do you think daytrading option is better than future?
daytrading options is a relative term, (you always have some position left when you trade them) i'm talking about guys that i knew who worked on the floor, and if you call a few years of trading long ... the options traders in general did much better on the floor then the futures traders, most of the latter were just gamblers who saw the order flow, after things went electronic (I live in Europe) most of them hardly survived whereas most options traders were too clever to give it all back ...
