I have always been impressed with Planar products, although I do not currently own one of their screens. My current setup is six Dell U2412M monitors (1900x1200), with mini DisplayPort connections. Dual FirePro 2460 cards drive them. No complaints, and not too costly.
Microcenter was offering the HP linked above for $400 for in-store pick-up only a few days ago. I think the deal is off now, but this model is getting discounted every now and then and is superior + lower cost to the Planar
What this HP one apparently does not have is the "bonded glass". Planar model has a front panel of glass while others, which describe the front as "glass" is actually a plastic. Tom's Hardware raved about the clarity from this innovative development. What's better about the HP is pivot screen and lack of speakers. HP's also has only DVI and DP inputs. First I've seen of this. The others had either "DVI only" or "DVI, DP, VGA, and HDMI + speakers".... the multi-input/speakers option commands more price. I needed DP, so had to go with the greater features/increased cost. Oh, and HP's is about $100 less. If I had to do it all over, and knowing the HP model has DP, I might go the HP route... I have 5 HP monitors already... but the "bonded glass" is a step up in display vibrance and clarity.
