Thanks alot for posting the coupon. Bought 3 of the Dell monitors for just under $300 each + tax.

I'm an Ensign user for charting. What I'm wondering is whether I can bring up a unique chart on each of the different sceens with Ensign? Or is this something that can only be done with certain charting software? For instance, I hear it can be done with ESignal because of the pop-out windows. But again, I'm wondering about Ensign.

Also, I wondering what type of video card I need to operate the 3 monitors.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Hi all,

does anyone know who manufactures the 1905FP for Dell?

I have a feeling it might be BenQ - but I'm only basing this on the fact that they have an FP series of 19 inch models, and some of these have a contrast ratio of 700:1.

I checked out the Philips and Samsung models, but could not find another that matched the specs as closely as the BenQ models did.

    LG perhaps?

    Cheers.

I was wondering about that too and speculating maybe it was LG. I have a Dell 20" Trinitron CRT which must have been cranked out by Sony since this is their technology. If it didn't weigh 10 tons it would be great. And it is anyway. Just difficult to move. :) And I also have 2 LG 19" CRT's which are great too.

  4. On eBay, many sellers claim that Sony maufactures the Dell 1905 FP....so, perhaps it is Sony

According to Anandtech's review, the 1905FP uses a Samsung panel.

How do I set the monitor to use the portrait view? Do I need to purchase Pivot Pro, or is there a driver on Dell's website that will allow me to do this?

    Thanks.

    bkk -

it may depend on your video card, but i think i went to Display/Settings/Advanced. there, i believe there was a Rotation tab and you can rotate the screen to match the physical orientation. i have my 1905FP's on a Dell 8400 and i think it is a (stock) ATI video card.

sorry i'm a little vague about the details, but i'm not at that PC right now.

    hope this helps.

    take care -

Thanks, that helped me find it. Unfortunately I'm using a laptop so I'm not able to do portrait with the external monitor while doing landscape with the laptop.

  10. lmao thats why i don't see a difference between the samsung 912n and the dell 1905. they almsot look identical next to each other. i paid 340 for the 912n whichw as regularly 450 a few months ago. i'd have been pissed paying 450 or so for the dell 1905. they're all good monitors. i jsut think when you trade there's so little difference between many monitors
