  1. Ok, FT - just what I needed, thanks as always for the details. Unfortunately the two 1905FP's will be somewhere around $1.2K for me here in $CDN (including taxes), unless there is something I am missing. I will end up going the dual card route, as you suggest.

Tried that one and still came up with $299.40. Is it supposed to be cheaper with that one? Do you have to already have a Dell Preferred Account (DPA) and how do you get one?
If we keep working on this perhaps we'll get them free. :D

  4. man 299 is incredible for these. ibet 12 months ago these were 600 bucks. whats the difference between 20 mms speed and 4 mms on the new viewsonic. is the 4 speed a much clearer picture

  5. Are you talking about 20 vs 4 ms (milliseconds)? I haven't seen a 4 ms monitor. That seems amazing. Can you post the model you are referring to?

The milliseconds describes the refresh rate. It doesn't mean a thing unless you plan to use the monitor for gaming. Gaming on a slow monitor causes ghosting and fuzziness. For charting, trading and other business applications, 25 ms or a bit more is ok.

It should be Extra $35 off. But I’m not 100% sure since I haven’t tried it.

Yes, you need to have a DPA (apply one).

    Yeah sure - keep trying ...... :p

    See ViewSonic's VX724 and VX924.

    You can get a 19" VX924 4ms LCD for $418 now.

    Totally agree.

  8. Guys,

IMHO refresh rate don't mean jack (unless it is something ridiculous) if you are looking at text and charts, so my advice would be to go for these 19 inch Dell monitors.

I use a 20inch EIZO (the new L887) and it is absolutely magnificent (got used to EIZO at a previous firm where they were the monitor of choice - no expenses spared). Where I currently work they favor the Dell 19 inch. Have been very impressed with these, I am actually surprised how well they work off the standard analog VGA output from the Dell Optiplexes.

Of course by gaming standards their refresh rates are crap - but that was not their intended use.

I'm in the market for a second monitor, but since this will not be the primary monitor in the setup I'm looking for something cheaper.

Has anyone compared the 20inch Dell to the 19 inch Dell? Considering I can buy about 4 19inch or 3 20inch for the price of a 20inch EIZO?

I'd like to have 2 - 20 inch monitors, but don't know how good the 20 inch Dell is (the 19 will be OK even next to the magnificent EIZO).

    Cheers.

    1. Dell's website says the DPA is for personal and home use only, yet this offer is through SB. ??

    2. I tried the coupon code, BV9QW3GBZBNGCG, but didn't get the discount during checkout. Anyone know about that?

    TIA

  10. I don't have a DPA, and I don't think you need one.

Dell has regular (personal), and small business site. Go to Dell, click on "Small Business", and use the coupon. I ordered two, the price came out correct, and I had no problems.
