They sure don't make it easy to find warranty info...they tell you to look on your invoice when it arrives...I assumed it has 3 yr limited warranty as does my Hitachi 17" LCD that I purchased a year or so ago from MonitorsDirect.Com Here is what it says on Dells site for Monitors: "Monitors carry the longer of either a 3-year limited warranty or the remainder of the warranty for the Dell computer to which the monitor will be connected."
3 YR. I had one show up with 2 dead pixels. They took it back and paid for next day shipping both ways.
Yes, the Hitachi is an awesome monitor...I have the 17" CML 175SXW B and just looked at my owners manual and I wrote the date down I purchased it and it was 4/29/04.....It has been trouble free from the moment I plugged it in and quite a few people have commented on it...it will be interesting to see how this 19" Dell Ultra-Sharp compares next to it..
It is down for me as well....I just checked after seeing your post...interesting, because approx a month ago I went to their site to check on the latest Hitachi's and they were down then and now that I think of it, I no longer receive any emails from them which were always very informative..... If they went out of business, it will be a loss because they were truly one of the good guys online....specializing in monitors and I can't stress how top shelf they were with customer service etc...not to mention great deals on superb monitors.....I will miss them because it has been very difficult for me to find a good place to buy Hitachi Monitors....I don't even know if they even make them any longer.....But I love mine and will see how this Dell Ultra-Sharp is in comparison... Thanks for posting that the site was down.. One last thing: Interesting to me as well how LCD monitors have finally come down in price over the last year if you catch the right deal..I purchased my 17" Hitachi which is an awesome monitor a year ago this month and paid when it was on special $399.00 out the door with free overnight Fedex from MonitorsDirect... And to think, just last night I purchased from Dell their 19" Ultra-Sharp LCD for just $269.45 before tax....2" larger and a very high end monitor like the Hitachi is....If anyone is interested in a LCD..stand back and check for the deals as they are becoming more and more frequent I noticed
