Great day for pivots on ES

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by Trend Fader, Jan 21, 2004.

  1. Looks like a left too much on the table... i will no longer post my trades on ET.... i have learnt my lesson.

My initial intention was to point out that we at key floor pivots levels and I simply when short into resistance and it worked out... I had no intention of creating a pissing contest w/ Waggie.

  2. The fact of the matter is that R2 was 1146.17

If we understand Trend-Fader's short-sale correctly, he went short at 1146.00 - - - otherwise, why would anyone go short ABOVE R2 with no resistance level for quite some distance in sight?

Then he says that he went short 5 ES at 1147.
But why would anyone go short ABOVE R2 if your methodology was to illustrate that we were heading into a resistance level?

Doesn't make sense, hence my suspicion of BS.
Sorry, but that is just the way that I see it. Post your statement and I will admit that I am wrong, complete with an Apology.

  3. TF,
do you use floor pivots in isolation? or do you need some other form of s/r to enter?

What did you expect? Pointing out the pivot levels is fine, though any trader interested should have figured all that out last nite. But when you get into whether or not you're short and when and by how much and so on, you're asking for trouble. The only people who'd care are those with no plan. Is that who you're posting for?

  5. Waggie,

He did say that he would scale into the position in his earlier post.. these resistance levels are not glass. meaning once broken its heading up.. but more like a rubber band and the price could go through it first before breaking down... I read that analogy somewhere its not mine..

But as far as his trades being BS.. I don't know.. I don't know why anyone would lie about such a thing.. I hate claiming to be something I'm not..

I'm an idiot.. and I admit it..

  6. First of all.. I am not a guru claiming to make a lot of $ trading futures.. i'm actually a newbie futures trader.

I like to chat about trading and I dont want to create any pissing contests with anyone.

Normally I trade futures about 2-3 times a day... I usually only base my trades on floor pivots alongside my own trendlines.

I never trade with any indicators.. no moving averages, oscillators and the others... all I use are trendlines, support resistance, pivots, volume.

  8. Hey Waggie, better yet, why don't you post your last 3 months P&L activity statements for all of us to see? Let's see what a great trader you are. It's only fair, since you like to bash everyone else on ET!

    :D :D :D

  9. Another CLASS act on ET.

What's wrong, did the Moderator's slap your wrists a bit too hard when you chose to post my phone number and address in a thread? Tell me something, do you always post people's phone numbers and addresses on ET if they say that they are a Republican?

In fact, the last time I checked you were gonna come out to Contra Costa County and check the Voters Registrar, right?

I was really looking forward to that.
Too bad you didn't show up, because I have a neighbor of mine that has been with the FBI for the past 28 years and he'd love to meet you!

    Keep spewing your classless BS.
You obviously have nothing better to do.

Read his posts! He's got not just great feel, but creative ideas. Waggie wouldn't necessarily be my Vice President running mate :) BUT he's a trader who's market opinion matters much to me. WTF this guy has been in the game TWO DECADES. I think he has a clue!!!!!
