Sheesh! Next thing you're going to mention Supertramp... (Breakfast in America came out in '79 but was popular for quite a few years thereafter.)
I was playing some Blackjack at the Luxor back in the late fall I think of 1998 with a relative who had just flown over to Vegas from Germany (first time in the U.S. and I have him fly out to Vegas...LOL). After about an hour of playing cards at a table near the entrance to "RA", I see all these people working their way into the club. It seemed like something big might be going on there this night so I decide to go and check it out....I pay like a $20 cover and work my way inside and find that no one is dancing but everyone is all around the small stage area on the right when you first walk in. I move through the crowd and get all the way up to the front of the stage with my cousin from Germany. He says, "what are they going to show here". I tell him I don't have a clue but lets just hang out and see what happens...seemed like something interesting by all the people getting ready for some performance...... Next thing you know the stage curtain opens as a band starts playing "Masquerade", and then as the lights come on I see that it is Terri Nunn (blonde hottie lead singer chick from "Berlin") singing right in front of me.....AWESOME!!! After a couple of great Berlin 80's songs she starts talking to the crowd about how she was divorced and looking for a great time in Vegas that night after the show....everyone starts cheering and laughing and going nuts! Terri now walks right up to the front of the stage (right in front of me) and as the crowd finally mellows the lights start to dim except for one cool blue light that shines on Terri as she starts singing "Take My Breath Away".......to me! She like puts her face about one foot away as she is signing to me with her eyes staring into mine.......heck, that was it for me...I had died and gone to heaven. All I know, is that was one heck of a night in Vegas...and to this day my cousin from Germany still talks about how we partied with the lead singer for "Berlin" in Vegas. I recently saw the "VH-1 Bands Re-united" show with Berlin and that was very interesting how they were able to get everyone back from the original group to perform once....and Terri was still looking very good IMO!
haha, did you take the imaginary Ms. Dunn in your imaginary Porsche made with your imaginary trading profits out for dinner? You sure spin it well. Mr Zen
It is Terri NUNN....not dunn! I have no Porsche (never owned one in my life) and I DO have very good profits from trading. As far as Vegas goes....I just happened to be at the Luxor on the perfect night for a 80's music fan. Hey, sometimes if you are very positive in life things work out...nothing more, nothing less. Zenny....now please re-fold your legs and get back to your meditations....remember, trading is all about YOU....your trading has nothing to do with us.
These things happen in Vegas. I had a similar experience - the year was 1978, the hotel was the Tropicana and the surprise entertainer turned out to be Liberace. Only by the time the lights started to dim, I was back at the blackjack tables. My cousin inherited a fortune.
ah yes, Ms Nunn. Remember Berlin well early 80's. I prefer chick from Missing Persons more. Anyway, question is why you disappear from Elite Trader from January thru September. We know u love to talk, so what gives. You also say you had good profits in "main"account, but what happen to all those "scale shorts" 10 lots in ES in other account? Me thinks those busted ye hide. Mr Zen
u guys miss the best song of early 1980s. Maybe a two hit wonder group. Crank this baby up "Words" Missing Persons Mr Zen
Suppose someone wanted to go get all these songs on the internet? Ruling out shareware, how could I, I mean, someone reliably find and buy this stuff? Any recommendations? Thanks, JohnnyK
"Walking in L.A." was my favorite from this group...btw, I saw Missing Persons with A Flock of Seagulls at a bar called Fat Tuesdays back in the mid-90's on 6th street in Austin, TX....that was a blast.....and NO, she did not sing to me face to face.....DARN!!!
