I don't know a "tremendous amount", like Trump, about this topic. But it turns out, I do know the answers to at least some of your specific questions. Even on what seem like dry clear days, there are still far more water molecules present than CO2 molecules per million air molecules. In a million air molecules, without any water molecules at all -- such as exists in a laboratory -- there is on average over the earth's surface about 400 molecules of CO2. Everywhere else on Earth, where the air hasn't been chemically or physically dried to remove water, there are on average many fewer than 400 molecules of CO2 per million air molecules.* There is 23 times more Argon in the air than there is CO2 (9,300 ppm argon vs. 400 ppm CO2.) CO2 is a trace gas in air. The Earth is a gigantic CO2 Sink and Source, absorbing and Releasing many gigatons of CO2 annually. A now obsolete 1994 estimate of CO2 half life ranged from 19 to 49 years, ave. 31 years. [see https://scholars.unh.edu/cgi/viewco...sredir=1&article=1605&context=earthsci_facpub ] The old Bern model used for a long time by the IPCC assumed a much longer half life. In my opinion, by far the most accurate estimates of CO2 dwell time in the atmosphere come from the atmospheric bomb tests of the 1950s. This statement below in italics (from: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/07...or-atmospheric-carbon-dioxide-residency-time/) accurately reflects what I believe to be the best estimate we have at present (see underlined) The Bern model prescriptions are inconsistent with the observations that have been made, and gravely underestimate both the rate and the extent of removal of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions. On basis of the Bern model predictions, the IPCC states that it takes a few hundreds of years before the first 80% of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions are removed from the air. The bombtest curve shows that it takes less than 25 years. After the Carbon-14 labeled CO2 half life calculations were published by Scandinavian scientists, why the IPCC persisted in using the clearly incorrect Bern Model is a mystery. But they did. _______ *Because air molecules roughly approximate an ideal gas.
Mangroves are a huge natural carbon sink. They keep decimating them. https://news.mongabay.com/2018/05/n...es-may-store-way-more-carbon-than-we-thought/
