  8. The NYSE is going to buy Instinet (INET). It gives them the option to go public and electronic whenever they feel it is in their best interests. Check out the price action in INET. Stock rose when Grasso resigned.

    Reuters would love to sell their 60% in one quick private transaction. The NYSE has the cash and the credit to do it too. They just booked $48 million in income from Grasso not taking part of his pay package.

    The Specialist system will only die when the NYSE decides it is time to die.
