tsk tsk. ...see, you're having trouble with the word already. "Essentially" cannot really be applied to "Thanks". You're using "thanks" as a noun in this context. Essentially is an adverb. So you really have to say "I essentially feel as if I should thank you", as the adverb would modify the very "to feel" in your sentence. But you can't really say "Thanks essentially". It's not proper.
Sometimes I wish I had received an English degree. Sadly, I stuck to Finance. Though Finance pays better, so there is that.
