Pit, unless it's after hours. There are those times when my analysis carries me to after market and I initiate the position then. I will be glad once Grains get electronic during the day.

Reason I asked is because I traded grains in the past and would like to get back into it now that I understand more and have hopefully learned from past mistakes. That being said, I remember paying commissions that were to expensive to mention per side. Am I being fair to say if I route orders to the pit I should look for $10rt from various FCMs?

Let me say this --Cheap round turn commissions in pit trading will generally get you bad fills, so it usually ends up costing you more. For pit trading, go with someone longstanding and reputable who will fight for good fills. Commissions will be higher. Electronic trading--now that's a different story.

Thanks. When I did trade the grains it was through Alaron, I know they have a huge presence in the grain pit..although pricey.

You will definitely get what you pay for in the pits.

I am patiently waiting for a bearish divergence on the Wheat Hourly chart and then I may short it.

nice beginning downmove in the beans--I look for Oats to follow and I may add short Oat positions.

  10. The fundamentals on oats are bearish but oats are usually effected by the corn market. If corn goes up or grains in general oats will go along for the ride. I think the corn market has a lot of positives on its side, which is why I am long a contract. If the index funds want to buy grains because of the inflation they will keep going up despite fundamentals. I'm still doing a little more research on oats and I might be joining you on the short side next week especially if prices get more out of whack.
