grain spreaders

  1. J-law has it right! mrci.com offers a free two week trial I believe, and the yearly price is pretty good, considering all the stuff you get. I get Jerry Toepke's weekly spread emails, it's only a 100 a year or something and he writes a good commentary on a couple of spreads each week, I rarely take the trades but I have come up with some good spin off ideas. Good luck.

  2. Anybody else liking selling the z9/k10 corn spread? its trading 19 halves now, I think it could go to 25-28.

  5. Agree on the Z/H...same goes over in Minni. Long may be a direction to look out in X/F beans too..try to get it back up to par.

  6. I am long the CK/CZ spread now, and do expect it to move up from here. I expect some resistance in the 20-22 range, but will move well if it can get past there..

  7. There is a lot of corn man, planting went well and it's looking like a good crop. Yields were revised down but so was usage, pretty low risk imo.

  8. When you say move up do you mean higher % carry or more backwardation.

  9. Currently full carry is 31 to 32. If you use 80% of carry as a high limit then the high end of the trade would be around 25 at today's prices. So I expect higher % carry; as Rtrader suggests, there is likely to be a lot supply.

  10. Yeah is it typical convention to quote it as backmonth minus front.... i always think of it as front month - back month. So when I hear higher I think less carry. What is the typical way it is quoted.
