I was watching late last night and saw the quick move up around 1:40amCST....I didn't do anything on it, but I assumed that was a good sign for how the rest of the night would go. Definitely seems like that is where the movement is sometimes.
slowly closing out long positions I took last week, out 1/4 in XIV around $42.25 sold all TNA just at $91.35 will buy back on next dip below $86 don't buy the rally...
chance of todays rally fading and going negative is less than 1%, we have seen these rallies time and time again, they gap open the dow 100 + points let it trade flat for an hour, prop it up another 50-100 points and let it trade flat into the close, thats what I think we have today, dow up 187 as I type this, it will gain momentum once 18,000 is crossed which should be no problem since the markets are back in the GREEN for the year. The only thing Im surprised about is to see the SEMIs sort of weak in comparison to the strength of the over all nasdaq, I own SOXL and its been sort of weak the entire morning, just keep watch, if that sector goes red it could spill over but over all no worries with all the green on the map today.
Im going to change my schedule, there is simply nothing to trade during the US session. Everything happens after 2am cst. Im looking back at my notes from years ago. During the summer, there is very little action during the US day session. Gaps is what occurs. If you want to make any money during teh summer in the US you pretty much have to trader the overnight sessions. There is movement around economic numbers. Also with earnings season here, sfter the close is when most companies report, so yes GAPS is the word that you will hears and see through out the summer.
JUST sold another 40% of my XIV position at $43.00.....holding only a little less than 50% of my original position..... Will buy back under $38.00....
ES now at 2090 look for a squirt up high during the lunch hour, they want to make this look good. I say a squirt up to 2095 or 2100 would get the public feeling pretty good.
Here comes the break out to the upside after consolidation, buying ES now at 2089.00 selling at 2095.00
Dow has traded in a 15 point spread the last 2 and half hours, please bring back the volatility, on a down day this would have moved already at least 50-100 points....
