Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Discussion in 'Trading' started by makloda, Jan 27, 2007.

  1. Serious question. Is this not the greatest bull run, maybe ever? In less than 2 weeks the Q's up $60 without a single pullback or red day. It's not even possible for this thing to pullback. No one else is seeing the massive green candles that are being thrown at this thing at every red attempt? So we are back to zero risk AGAIN. VIX will be below 20 next week.

I have seen that before . That happened to me on a fund I bought throughout 2024, was up very nicely seeing unlimited gains and then wham it lost about 20%, my gains went brick red, I held on though, adding more money to cost average lower, still holding it today and only a few dollars from my cost average buy in but I will be selling once I'm approximately 10% up, which at the moment should be by end of May the way the markets are moving. This time I'm taking profit and will wait it out until next 10% drop to buy back in.

  4. Hello S2007S,

I ask my girlfriend when to Exit ALLLL my stock trades. If she says take profits, I exit the trades. If she says hold the stock trades, I hold the trades. Nice and Simple.

That is correct @S2007S, once your have a Profits that you like or that can buy you something nice in life, like a vacation or car or something, Exit the trade for a win.

We not trying to be stock gurus or stock traders, we are gambling to make money.

I will exit my stocks soon for a profit. Easy and Simple

Adding to losing trades is stupid and dumb unless you already rich.

Its called cost averaging and it works ...

So far it's working on that fund.

So she's telling you when to sell??

Let me know the outcome of that ordeal. Should be quite interesting when it's all done.

Imagine if stocks drop 8% next week and she missed it by a day or 2

  6. Hello S2007S,

Please stop taking trading so seriously and just make money.

It is not that serious buddy. We just buying damn stocks when the market drops. It is not like we both bought $1million of shares and we going buy new houses tomorrow. It is not that serious.

Day trade the ES futures to be rich, now that is serious.

I don't rely on my trading to pay my bills and feed myself....I do it for fun.

I have a retirement account that I do put a descent amount in each month and forget about it...

Another record Monday with the s&p up 10 days in a row....

Yes you heard it here 1st...

To keep the rally in place they will keep pushing small news events and I believe the next one to show up will be the reduction of the tariffs on china from.145% to something under 75%, this will push markets up another 3% and as they slowly.reduce tariffs markets will surge each time.until.a deal is made
My prediction for a deal.is definitely before the 90 pause amd sometime in the next 4 to 6 weeks, possibly even sooner.

Well very few companies actually made money on the late 1990s internet. It was mainly the shovel sellers that did well -- Dell, Cisco & Sun Microsystems. And the fiber build out didn't benefit anyone until 10 years later when telecoms figured out the last mile installation.

AI in comparison is more useful already. Microsoft & Duolingo already use it to generate substantial code. I think the allegory to fiber is AGI not a generic AI. AGI is quite far away.
