All of the blockers posts on this thread (and the whole forum) will have suddenly become invisible to the person who was blocked. You will also notice missing post numbers, each post in a thread has a sequential number like #25851, and when someone who has you on block posts, there will be gaps in the numbers. It is very easy to read blocked posts, just open a private or incognito browser window with the same URL. All posts are then visible.
Basically what @Millionaire said, but when you are posting to a thread, and referencing old posts while forming your message, and all of a sudden they disappear in real time? Yep, that's a sure sign, hehe. Meanwhile, it seems he has unblocked me again, because I see his responses now in this thread again.
Same here, he just unblocked me too and then quoted my post and called me a 'troll', i suppose 'troll' is less offensive than what he called you which was 'a wanker'
If I block/ignore someone I don't see their posts, but they can still see mine. Not the other way around.
There is a 'total block' checkbox option on ET that if selected blocks them seeing your posts as well. No other forum I frequent has this kind of option. It looks like a custom add on to the forum software.
That's ok. I could care less if the ignored see what I post. But there is another trading/investing (more the latter) forum that allows you to block posters completely from your own moderated topic. Don't care for that either.
Just trying to figure out between ignore and block. How do you tell if someone has you on ignore? It's not a bad feature (Ignore) you don't have to pay attention to posts you can't be bothered with. What I'm curious about is if you ignore me am I aware of it?
Everyone just needs to chillaxin with the block stuff. I have never done it, because there is no need for me to go all "Wahhhh, mommy mommy, I cannot stand what I am seeing and cannot handle it in my brain! Wah wah WAHHHHH!!" People who ignore and block other people are weak in the head. I have never used that feature, and never will. Suck it up you cocksuckers, yer on the Internet now. Back in the day, there was no such thing as "block and ignore", because Usenet. Stop being wimpy lalas and grow a pair ON A BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM. A MESSAGE BOARD! Sheesh! WTF you guys think is going to happen if you don't ignore/block the people you do because you cannot handle criticism? Will it affect your finances? Marriage? Your car? Crikey! Chill, dudes. A MUDPIT section would be more constructive than this block/ignore shit, but Baron won't do it. Alas.
