Great call flipping long, if your trading right, (putting yourself in the right positions at points where the stock is likely to pivot one way or the other) good shorts often turn into good longs, i just struggle with doing that when i take a loss, cause i have a tendency to revenge trade things, so im always leary of flipping my position after i get stoped out.
Well that was quick....calling it a day. Every position I've entered today has stopped me out and then taken off in my direction.
On days like that it helps me to never go back to the same instrument that burnt me more than once, its a rule i break from time to time, but if you never go back to the well twice it helps you avoid those stubborn positions that just keep getting you all day.
I don't have Visaria's level of patience...even in measly small call positions I can't way to get out of them...it's that gravity thing you mentioned...I'm used to "ebb and flow"...this stuff is just strange.
Yeah, I actually was on CL this morning and got stopped out twice, and had one small profit. Then switched to ES. But you are definitely right on that. No sense it trying repeatedly on the same instrument if it isn't trading how you think it will.
So mad i couldnt find shares of WTW to short it setup perfectly again this morning, and its already under the 15 dollar mark i originally thought it was going too.
Those SPY credit spreads I sold last week aren't having the best day today lol. Luckily, it is a small position and a tiny spread between the strikes. They don't expire until next month, so I will just be holding them for now.
Yeah i agree i wish i had Visaria's patience, I started out as a scalper, literally profiting off of minute to minute price action, so for me anything more than a couple hours is a tough hold, ive been slowly trying to lengthen my time frame, as the writing is on the wall for shorter time frames, its getting harder and harder to game the bots. Thats why i like sticking to volatile moves on small caps cause its less bot vs bot and more human vs human.
this is turning into an upside crash, lol...the price action, if you can call it that, this past week with such strong rejection of any downside was foretelling...market was just going to jam on the whole CB dovishness...
