AAPL has a PE of 12.75, yield almost 2%, and serious technical support at the $100 level. Short of massive drops in their revenues and business ( hadn't heard of any yet ), this stock is going to be super attractive to fund managers, especially if there is rotation out of sectors like retail ( see Walmart ). They also have the tool in reserve of being able to raise dividends if they want to support the stock.
Noted, I am not saying the stock is finished, just that I expect it to decline further, everything starts with a correction, afterwards we shall see.
I don't think Germany and Japan can do much to cheapen their currencies since yields in these countries are already at rock bottom, the yield differential cannot go much lower. China and EM economies have been grappling with capital outflows, many of them have been selling dollars to keep their currencies afloat, they certainly won't mind a stronger currency. A weak dollar is inflationary and it tends to positive for risky assets, no other way to spin this imo.
NETFLIX completely misses earnings!!!! Netflix shares plunged on Wednesday after the media company posted mixed earnings and fell short of expectations for U.S. subscriber growth. The stock fell as much as 14 percent after Netflix reported earnings of 7 cents per share on $1.74 billion in revenue. Analysts expected Netflix to post earnings of 8 cents per share on $1.75 billion in revenue, according to a consensus estimate from Thomson Reuters. OFF nearly $20 after-hours!
Im really, really, really surprised NFLX is holding up above $100 a share....It was a complete earnings miss....complete miss.... Not only did they miss on EPS and Revenue but they TOTALLY MISSED on subscriber growth here in the US! With lots of competition setting in I wouldn't doubt that netflix starts seeing less subs quarter over quarter moving into 2016. Netflix added 880,000 new U.S. members in the quarter, much lower than the 1.19 million analysts expected, according to StreetAccount. International net additions totaled 2.74 million, beating Wall Street's projection of 2.46 million.
It isn't in a confirmed downtrend, it's still up trending. How we look at fundamentals makes no case for this or that, just assumptions. The only thing that matters is whether consensus of fund managers and their actions consider it uptrending or downtrending. Once it gets into a confirmed correction downside could be quite sudden and drastic (again an assumption). Facts over assumptions.
