  1. I will daytrade SPY options somewhat frequently...ES futures options can be a real pain at times since even the front month will spread out wide when the market volatility upticks...and that can be dangerous when trying to close out a spread and you are exposed on the other side...

I think SPY is the best choice overall, IMO

Yeah, i was thinking the same thing, Walmart news is big, might just take a while for the market to digest i could still see us hitting new lows today, but i got no position either way, cause its right in the middle of the move and i missed the top.

Down on wage increases, hmmmm...looks like they might have to pass that off to the consumer like these corporations always do.....

Wal-Mart shares slumped more than 7% after the world's largest retailer said that investments in technology and wage increases would likely lead to a decline in earnings in 2016. Wage increases are expected to add $1.2 billion in costs over 2016. Sales next year are expected to come in flat before growing between 3% and 4% over the next three years. Wal-Mart was trading at its lowest level since mid-2012.

  8. Self-checkout is a far better experience than waiting in a line with a surly cashier anyhow...Alot of retailers have had that technology in stores for more than 10 years, but I suppose there is a bit of tug-pull between large corps and the govt when it comes to really replacing the bulk of employees.

Walmarts problem is that they are trying to hard to keep up with pricing competition, were seeing it everywhere....retailers are losing a battle....for instance most big companies price match now just to get that extra dollar...it worked for me when I went to bed bath and beyond a few months back, they price matched an item on amazon and wayfair, I pulled it up showing it on my phone....one of the other workers said we don't price match on wayfair...I said let me speak to a manager...the manager was actually really cool and price matched it for me right then and there. The only thing is when you price match an item you cannot use the 20% off coupons on top of the price match its either one or the other.....I went into best buy and even they price match everything now...on top of that I also discovered that on the item I bought that if I were to return it there would be NO RESTOCKING FEE, which was actually very surprising, because I know years ago they would charge I think 15-20% restocking fees....so its nice to see these big retailers finally bowing down to the competition....the newest company to rival amazon is a company called JET.com. I don't think its working out, I went to the website to see what it was about, prices are very high compared to prices at my local stores around my area...

Wal-Mart shares had their worst day in 15 years Wednesday, after the world's largest retailer said sales will be flat in fiscal 2016, while its earnings will slide to between $4.40 and $4.70 a share — down from $4.84 last year.

I for one can't stand the self checkout lines, I use them maybe 10% of the time. I have had some trouble with them in the past....soon there wont even be self check out lines, what its going to be is rfid chips or some kind of tech sticker that can register every item in your cart, once in the cart it will automatically charge it to your phone or what ever tech device you carry.....once you leave the store the final transaction will take place ...today you still have to scan in each item before you place it in your cart..
